Often with small signs, the edges become part of the design. Medium Density Hardboard [Trade names are Medex or Extira] is a material that takes a routed edge well. In the example shown, we shaped the sign blank and then routed the edges. At this stage it has been primed and sanded and is ready for the first coat of sign enamel.
